Although asparagus is traditionally known as the Swan Valley's hero spring vegetable, local aficionado Alfred Edgecombe is happy to share some autumn-picked asparagus with some lucky fresh produce lovers. See how asparagus grows, pick some for dinner, and then spend the early evening enjoying a meal and wine from Edgecombe Brothers.

Details

Roll up your sleeves to spend an informative afternoon in the Swan Valley sharing in the asparagus harvest at Edgecombe Brothers. This masterclass has three components, classroom activity, field activity and eat and drink! In the first part, Alfred Edgecombe talks about the history of the Swan Valley and, of course, asparagus. Then it???s off to the asparagus patch to see how it grows and to carefully pick some for dinner and to take home. Once back at the cafe, guests will help prepare asparagus for their dinner before sitting down for a meal enjoyed with wine from Edgecombe Brothers.
